Summer 2009 The "BRAT" Voyage An experience of a life time!!!! We went out on our boat...The "BRAT" for a cruise from Clearlake, TX through the Gulf of Mexico, down the FL coast to the tip of the Keys and then back up the east coast to our 2nd home in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
Yes!!!! We did!!! and WOW!!!! The trip was awesome. We dicided not to hire a captain and make it a private family adventure...and it was nothing short of that. The good, the bad and the ugly!! We saw breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. The snorkeling and fishing were the high points! Storms were a little scary (but beautiful!) and calculating distance with fuel...uh yea! Lets just say we had a couple set backs coming in on only one engine to Destin, FL. Pitch black nights traveling using only the radar as our eyes...a few near misses, like ghost ships...haha and we invented a new game for boating in the Gulf of Mexico called.... "Gulf Pinball" ugh!!! those oil/fuel rig structures were everywhere!! We felt like a ball in a pinball game!!! So many other experiences I'd love to share. What a Blessing to be with my family. I have soooooooo many stories and pictures I am not sure if I can get them all uploaded. I will try. Making Memories! Hope you enjoy! |
